This section of the site showcases the various websites I have created, primarily focusing on sites completed in the last five years (older websites have been archived). Although not comprehensive, this selection demonstrates my ability to design websites that are functional and well laid out yet also unique, creative, and artistic. Version 1.0 of www.davidbhowe.net was designed in late 2002. The site lasted almost 3 years, serving as a method for family and friends across the United States to keep in touch with me after I moved to Seattle, WA to pursue a degree at DigiPen: Insititute of Technology. The site was replaced in late 2005 by Version 2.0, as the newer version featured a more professional design and layout. All of the old news posts are still accessible by visiting Version 1.0 of the site.
Premier Global Sales is a company based out of Pittsburg, PA. They specialize in retailing emergency vehicle equipment. Their website is integral to their sales figures as a primary percentage of their customers are online. This website serves as an online catalogue for customers to peruse the company's supplies before ordering. All products are pictured in high-resolution photos so clients have an accurate idea of what the products look like. The website was designed for 800x600 resolution.
As a member of the DigiPen Student Association, one of my responsibilities was to design and maintain their website. The website featured an interactive poll to help inform the association of the student body's general opinion on various subjects (games to use at school tournaments, movies to watch on animé nights, etc.). The website's news page was updated on a weekly basis with school event information as well as minutes postings from the association's meetings. The DigiPen Student Association's website is only viewable internally from DigiPen, thus I am not allowed to provide a link to the website.
The Justice League of Canada was a guild created by a group of DigiPen students that all became addicted to City of Heroes at an overnight LAN party. The website chronicles the group's adventures with a selection of screenshots and tracks all of the guild's members.
Team Anomalous Energy, a fairly well-known Counter-Strike team several years ago, contacted me to create this site for them. The site was used to display the team's current win-loss record, their team's roster, and any affiliated clans. The opening page was designed to quickly inform viewers of their most recent matches via scoreboard screenshots and match details.
This is the second iteration of the Creative Images Photography website. This version of the site revolves around a blue, square-ish theme. One of the unique features of this site is the artistic use of the blue color theme: images are blue onload and they become colorized on mouseover events. This keeps the theme and feel of the site fluid, but helps the images tend to jump alive when the user focuses on them.
Panda Suits was a Counter-Strike clan I belonged to years ago. Before finally disbanded, the team made it into the CAL-Main league (a prestigious online gaming league). This website represents one of the more creative website designs I have implemented.
Gear-Shift Studios was the second iteration of my web-development showcase sites. The site itself is incomplete, but the portfolio links on the left are functional. Several of the websites described in the portfolio section are not listed on this website due to space concerns.
Creative Images Photography, a home-based, small business in Lawrence, KS, specializes in photography solutions for weddings, family reunions, senior portraits, and almost any other event you can imagine. The first of two websites I created for CIPhoto utilized a basic green color scheme with various sections designed to showcase the services the studio has to offer.
The Soldiers of Fortune website is currently maintained by other members of the group. This version of the website, however, was created and maintained by myself. It features two versions: a strictly HTML version, and a strictly Flash version (warning, this website was created when Flash was the new thing and was frequently used in excess). It has a nice flash introduction that has been carefully synchronized to music.
